Long stays

What changes

• Seven nights or more is arranged by e-mail rather than through the booking form, because it usually involves a room change partway through and the form cannot do that.
• Servicing moves to twice a week if you would rather not have somebody in the room every day, with fresh towels whenever you want them.
• Laundry: there is a launderette four blocks away and the desk will point you at it. We do not do laundry here.
• Breakfast stays included every day of the stay, which for a fortnight is most of the value of the rate.
• A desk. If you are working, the Snug and the Long Room Suite are the two room types with a proper one, and the Snug is the cheapest room here.

What it costs

Seven nights or more takes ten per cent off the room part of the rate, and fourteen nights or more takes fifteen. That is the one place a percentage appears on this website, and it appears because it is a discount applied at the end to a total you have already seen built night by night rather than a multiplier buried inside the nightly price.

The seasonal adjustments and the weekend uplift still apply, so a fortnight in autumn costs more than a fortnight in January. There is no flat weekly rate, because a weekly rate would either overcharge you in February or undercharge us in October.

What this building is not good at

Three things, and if any of them is central to your stay you should rent an apartment instead.

• Cooking. There is no kitchen a guest can use beyond a kettle and a fridge shelf. A month of eating out is expensive and gets old.
• Storage. These are hotel rooms with a rail and a chest of drawers. There is nowhere to put six weeks of belongings.
• Being alone. Breakfast is a shared room and the walls are timber. It is a sociable building, which is lovely for four nights and is not for everybody.

We would rather say that now than take a month's booking that somebody spends three weeks regretting.
