A full night in the middle

Why the answer is no

Because "a Garden Queen from the third to the eighth" means one room, held for you, for every night in between. If the Wednesday is taken, that room does not exist for the whole of your stay, and selling you four fifths of it and sorting out the middle later is how a guest ends up moving their suitcase down two flights of stairs on the Wednesday afternoon.

So the engine checks every night of the range and refuses the range if any single night fails. There is no partial yes.

What we offer instead of a bare no

Three things, in this order, and the booking page does the first two automatically:

1. The ranges near your dates that DO work, as links you can click. If the fourth to the seventh is clear, that is offered rather than left for you to find by trying seven combinations.
2. Any other room type that is free for the whole range. Often the answer is that a Courtyard Twin is free all five nights when the Garden Queens are not, and it is cheaper.
3. A split stay, offered on the telephone and never imposed. Four nights in one room and one night in another, with us moving your bags rather than you. Some guests are perfectly happy with that and some would rather stay elsewhere; it is offered as a choice because it is one.

The thing we will not do

Take the booking, hope somebody cancels, and tell you on the day. That is a real practice in this trade and it works often enough to be profitable. It is also the reason people distrust small properties, and one guest it fails badly costs more than the four it quietly worked for.

If we cannot house you for the nights you asked for, you will know that at the moment you ask rather than the week before you travel.
