Groups and whole-house bookings

Why the form does not do it

Because a group booking is a set of decisions the form cannot make: whether four rooms of the same type exist on those nights, which two people share the twin, whether the party would rather be on one floor, and who is paying. Those get answered in one e-mail and would take six attempts through a booking page.

Four rooms or more

• Send the dates, the number of people and any preference about who is where. You will get back an actual allocation with room names on it, not a "subject to availability".
• A deposit of one night per room holds it, taken when you accept the allocation.
• Free cancellation up to fourteen days before arrival — longer than the three days on an individual booking, because a group leaving us at three days' notice is a night we cannot refill.
• Inside fourteen days the deposit is kept. Inside seven, the first night of every room is charged.

Those terms are worse for you than an individual booking, and they are stated here rather than in a document you sign later. If four separate people book four rooms individually, they get the individual terms and pay slightly more per room. Both routes are open and we will tell you which is cheaper for what you are doing.

The whole house

All 15 rooms for one night, from 780 € plus any space hire, which includes breakfast for everybody. It works well for a wedding party staying together, a family gathering or a company doing something quiet for two days. It works badly for anything loud, because this is a residential street and the ten o'clock rule is not ours to waive.

A whole-house booking takes a fifty per cent deposit and cancels free up to thirty days out. After that the deposit is kept, because a fifteen-room night cannot be resold at three weeks' notice.

One thing we will not do. Take a whole-house booking for an event this building cannot hold. If what you are describing needs eighty people, a ceremony space or amplified music at eleven at night, we will say so on the first call. A deposit taken for something that was never going to work is not a booking, it is a problem with a date on it.
